I have been using my new watercolour set quite a bit over the past few weeks and thought I would share some of my paintings with you guys!
I started off with a few tutorials to get my artistic juices flowing, such as this watercolour feather tutorial which I used for the feathers in the image above.
I have already been using some of these paintings for my finished designs, like the diamond below you may recognize from my Watercolour Diamond Pattern that I shared last week.
I followed this tutorial in order to create these beautiful (and easy) watercolour gemstones! I also referenced this step-by-step tutorial in order to draw the diamond shape correctly.
Here I was working on my calligraphy and lettering skills by painting out some words that I can mix and match in various ways (sexy pizza pie anyone?).
Here is a close up of the pug face I painted! I think it turned out pretty good.
This slice of pizza is going to come in handy for some cute new designs (and is making me hungry).
Make sure you follow my blog so you can find out how I will use these in my upcoming designs!
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my sketchbook watercolour paintings, and a bit of the preliminary process of creating my finished designs. Let me know what you think!!
Have a great week everyone.
I have been super busy this past week because I am moving and everything is packed up, so I’m just doing a quick post today to share this design I made a little while back. It’s another version of my mandala pattern in a rose gold tone!
It looks pretty nice on the items in my RedBubble, Society6 and Zazzle stores, I’ve even had a few sales of it already!
If you are looking for fun and unique gift ideas I would jump on these now so you can get them in time for the Christmas!
Check out some of the styles below:

I love how this design works in so many different colour schemes and on so many different products in my stores!
What do you guys think?
Anyways I am off to finish unpacking! I will have some new designs to share with you all very soon, so make sure you follow my blog so you don’t miss them.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably taken notice of the increasing popularity of Adult Coloring Books lately!
I have always found creating art a therapeutic practice for me, so I am not surprised that this trend has caught on around the world as a stress-relieving activity.
I am currently working on creating some of my own coloring book pages to sell in my Etsy store for a small price, but to kick things off I am offering some FREE coloring pages to all of my lovely fans and followers!
Click here to print or download a PDF containing 3 full-page coloring pages, entirely hand drawn by me!
I recommend printing these on quality paper or even card-stock, and coloring them in with some nice pens or colored pencils.
You can use these for personal use only –please don’t claim them as your own or use for commercial use.
If you want to show off your colored-in versions, feel free to post them here or on Instagram using my hashtag #julieerindesigns! You could even post them to my Facebook page if you’d like.
I hope you will enjoy coloring in these free coloring pages and have as much fun coloring them as I had drawing them!
Stay tuned for more freebies coming soon and I will let you all know when I have some full books available for sale in my store 🙂
This is a drawing of Jupiter which I made for my print class.
I did not wind up making this one into a lithographic print, however I thought it turned out nice enough to share.
This drawing was done in pencil and black conte on paper, 24″ x 36″.
I’m quite enjoying creating these space themed pieces. Stay tuned for more!
