While this is generally an art blog, those of you who have followed me for a while know that I also occasionally like to share my travel photos with you guys!
Travel and photography are actually related to my art practice because I often use the photos to create new designs either directly or indirectly, and travel in general tends to inspire me creatively.
Below is an example of a product I created using a photo from this latest trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico!
And yes, I did go to Cabo last year as well but we stayed in San Jose del Cabo, and this time we stayed much closer to actual Cabo San Lucas at the Hotel Riu Palace. (Unfortunately, my boyfriend and I both suffered from food poisoning on this trip, from the hotel buffet, so while the hotel itself is beautiful I can’t recommend it based on that experience.)
Cabo is a fairly short and direct flight from Vancouver, and generally cheaper for me compared to other beach locations, so it’s kind of a no-brainer. I will definitely be back to Cabo but will find somewhere else to stay next time.
Anyways, here are a few highlights from the trip:
We went out bar hopping one night and hit up Cabo Wabo, El Squid Roe, another random bar and La Vaquita (a cow themed night club!). It was super fun, I definitely recommend it if you’re there. It is very easy to just walk between the different bars/clubs and quite an experience.
So, I hope you guys have enjoyed seeing these photos from my latest adventure, please let me know what you think about them and the products I made by leaving a comment below!
Also, if you would like to know anything about Cabo San Lucas, or the hotel I stayed at or whatever, feel free to ask me and I’ll do my best to help!
My first new design of 2017! A Watercolour Diamond Pattern.
I got a watercolour set for Christmas so I have been having a lot of fun painting and creating some fun new designs like this one!
I made a repeating pattern from a diamond I painted, which I think turned out really nice as it looks good on a lot of the products in my stores. I’ve even uploaded it to all 3 of my stores on Society6, Redbubble and Zazzle!
Check out a sample of some of the products I created below:
