Florence – The Arno River and Ponte Vecchio Bridge

Just re-sharing some of my photographic series from my old blog. These are from my trip to Florence!


Florence, the Renaissance city!

This series features shots taken of the Arno River which runs through the heart Florence, and the historic Ponte Vecchio bridge which is a must-see experience for any visit.

The bridge is lined with gold and silver shops and usually packed with tourists. Also, there is a secret passage (no longer secret and open to the public) that runs over the bridge to the Boboli Gardens, made specially for the infamous Medici family.

The last image I added here – while not of the River itself – it located right around the entrance to Ponte Vecchio bridge.

They are “Lovers Locks” – romantic couples place a lock on the railings, some carved with their names or initials, to commemorate their love ❤  So sweet!
